OfficersOfficer positions are held for one or two years, depending on club size and structure.

- Presides at all meetings
- Maintains the primary contact with the Alumni Office
- Suggests and guides the projects and activities of the club
- Appoints all club committees (e.g. membership and scholarship)
- Attends annual Alumni Senate meeting and any other important alumni conference or appoints another officer to represent the club
- Works with the NDAA Regional Director
- Instructs his/her successor on the President's duties
- Prepares Annual Report
- Assumes responsibility for each activity that the club sponsors

- Familiarizes himself/herself with the duties of the President
- Heads at least one major committee

- Keeps minutes of all meetings
- Maintains the membership list and advises the Alumni Files department of all address changes within the club area
- Submits a club news report to the Alumni Editor at specified deadlines
- With the President, handles notices to all members
- Help prepare notices of meetings and events

- Maintains and supervises club bank account
- Pays all club bills
- Collects and records receipt of annual dues
- Prepares year-end financial statement
- Files annual tax report
- Leads budget plan
- Reports on finances at each club meeting

Board of DirectorsClubs conduct the organization's business through the Board of Directors, which includes all officers of the club. The number of directors will vary according to the size of the club and its activities. Directors should represent alumni from different age groups and geographic areas. Newly organized clubs may create an ad hoc Board until the first election.
The term of an office is three years and should not exceed three consecutive terms. In order to allow continuity, terms are staggered, and some new board members are elected every year. An election committee should propose a slate of candidates to the officers and the Board of Directors for their approval. The approved slate should be presented at the Annual Meeting for approval. Nominations from the floor would also be in order.
Committee ChairpersonsThe bulk of the work of the ND club is done by committees. Committee chairpersons should usually, but not exclusively, be selected from the Board of Directors. The size of the committee will depend on the size of the task. Larger events may require co-chairs and more members. Small events and activities can usually be handled by two or three people.
Depending on the activities of your club, committee chairperson positions may include:

Assists the Admissions Office in recruiting prospective students from the area by attending college fairs or planning information nights, and often plans the student send-off once students have been admitted. |
| Communications |
Submits club notes to Alumni Editor and serves as editor for club newsletter. |
| Community Service |
Coordinates community service projects / programs at the local level. |
| Continuing Education |
Coordinates continuing education programs such as Hesburgh Lectures. |
| Diversity |
Involves minority alumni in club activities. May also serve as the club's liaison to the Minority Alumni Network. |
| Law or MBA |
Involves Law or MBA alumni in local club events. |
| Membership |
Maintains records of membership and collects dues. |
| Monogram Representative |
Involves former student athletes and Monogram winners in the club's activities. May also represent their local club in the Monogram Club. |
| Senior Alumni |
Coordinator plans community service programs that are geared towards senior alumni and friends. |
| Student Relations |
Coordinates programs such as Summer Service Learning Projects, Club Care Packages, mentoring program, and hosting student groups. |
| Webmaster |
Maintains club's website. |
| Young Alumni |
Plans events that are geared towards young alumni and encourages young alumni to participate in all club events. |
